His practice unfolds at the intersection of drawing and printmaking\u2014disciplines he has pursued with constancy, never relinquishing the gesture of the hand nor the materiality of the plate. Through a sustained exploration of intaglio processes\u2014drypoint, etching, aquatint, bitumen-based grounds, and direct acid biting\u2014he develops a body of work attentive to trace, erosion, and the slow emergence of the image. Alongside his work as an engraver, Ren\u00e9 Drouyer has cultivated a parallel photographic practice. Since 2004, he has collaborated with several photo agencies, and his images\u2014often situated between document and interpretation\u2014have been widely disseminated, notably on the covers of books and magazines. <br>His trajectory is marked by extended periods spent across diverse geographies, including Vietnam, C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, Angola, Russia, Syria, Malaysia, and Thailand. These experiences inform a visual language shaped by displacement, light, and the persistence of memory.
